Ann Stone tells us about the new medical clinic going up in Dutchtown. Currently, there are no medical facilities in Dutchtown and those residents have to drive to the Airline/42 intersection to get care. The new building will be about 7,000 sqft and will have an internal medicine doctor and a pediatrician. The groundbreaking was last week and they hope to start seeing patients in May 2009. Hopefully, the weather will not delay their construction project too much. Our furry friends have been spending more time indoors because of all this foul weather, so we thought we'd get you a deal on carpet cleaning and tell you how to take care of minor problems yourself. For "pee" stains, blot up the liquid with paper towels, then mist lightly with a vinegar/water solution and blot with a white towel. The vinegar should neutralize the ammonia from the urine. Many store-brand products work well on stains - just remember to use as little as possible and to blot gently with a white towel. Never scrub the carpet area or use hot water to saturate it.
